A musical piece composed and produced only by using the footsteps and the breaths extracted from 10 minutes’ mundane walk around my university residence.

It was born from the question of ‘Is it possible to produce ‘nice music’ by using only ‘boring’ ordinary sound materials?’

It was made for the MA module called Sound Environments run by Prof Sally-Jane Norman at the University of Sussex. The original title was Is it possible to produce 'nice music' by using only 'boring' ordinary sound materials?

学生寮の周りをレコーダーを持って10分間歩き、 その録音から取り出された足音と呼吸音だけを使って作られた音響作品。

「『つまらない』ありふれた音素材から『面白い音楽』を作ることはできるか？」という問いをきっかけとしている。

サセックス大学大学院のSally-Jane Norman教授にて開かれていたSound Environmentsという授業の課題に対して制作された。原題は「Is it possible to produce 'nice music' by using only 'boring' ordinary sound materials?」。
